If the Vietnamese gained anything from decades of french occupation they are a Romanized alphabet and baking skills.

Knowing this, I set out on a quest to find a bakery in Ho Chi Minh city. Unfortunately, although “Bakery” is written all over the establishments, no motorcycle drivers understand the phrase. I was only able to find this one by utilizing a phone call to someone willing to translate for me.

Food Unique to One Restaurant

Last time I went to Vietnam, I ate at this small Restaurant on the recommendation of my step-sister. I came back to America expecting to be able to find an expatriate who made the same thing. Come to find out that this dish, Pho Chua, is unique to this restaurant. I ate here twice while on my second trip.
